1940s / 1950s Beige peak lapel VLV Sport Coat 38 Reg.
Up for sale is this very photogenic sport coat from the 1940s or early 50s by Stein's. This is an iconic jacket from the swing era    The cut is an Italian style with padded shoulders, a slimmer waist, and no rear vents. The style, material and cut are typical for the 1940s.
Get ready to go back in time with this incredible jacket.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Well-preserved!  No holes. Lining is soft and flexible.  A few very light and minor stains.  One is on the breast pocket near the bottom.  Minor discoloration on shoulders, especially on the left shoulder.  One light stain above the right side pocket and just behind it. These stains are very light and tend to be obscured by the pattern. They are not visible except on close inspection. Some hanger marks in the lining.
Front closure button does not match cuff buttons.
Overall looks great for a jacket from the 1940s!

Material: no markings, but looks and feels like a wool and linen blend.
Marked: no size markings, but measures to a 38-39 Regular (slim fit)

Chest (arm pit to arm pit): 21.75"  double is 43.5, the normal deduction is 4 -5, making it a 38.5 - 39.5
Waist (across top /middle button): 19 5/8"
Sleeve (from shoulder edge seam to cuff): 25.25"               with a hem of 2"
Shoulder (back seam to seam): 18.75"
Length (from bottom of back collar to hem): 32"

Perfect; like brand new
Excellent:
Looks nearly perfect; no visible flaws; almost new condition
Very Good:
Only a few minor flaws which are not visible or have no effect on the look of the garment
Good:
Multiple minor flaws, but may not be very noticeable, the garment is still wearable, but may need minor repair
A few words on sizing:
Since many suits aren't marked, I go by measurements to determine size.  Also be aware that sometimes a suit is marked, but it doesn't match the measurements.
