1950s wool nubby tweed atomic rockabilly Sport Coat 40 Short.
Up for sale is this atomic / rockabilly sport coat from the 1950s by University Clothes. This is an iconic jacket from the 50s.    The cut is a British style with moderately padded shoulders, a slightly slimmer waist, patch pockets, and double rear vents. The style, material and cut are typical for the mid to late 1950s.
The material is a beige nubby tweed with flecks of brown (and a blue fleck here and there) and in the weave.
Get ready to look like James Dean in this incredible jacket.
Condition:
Good / Very good vintage condition.  No stains only lightly used.  A few vintage repairs, but unnoticeable due to weave of the fabric.
One repair is on the bottom of the right pocket and the other is on the bottom of the left sleeve.

Material: no markings, but looks and feels like wool or a wool blend
Marked: no size markings, but measures to a 40 short.   The length of the jacket is closer to a regular, but the sleeves are clearly a short.

Chest (arm pit to arm pit): 22.5"  double is 45, the normal deduction is 4-5, making it a 40
Waist (across top /middle button): 19"
Sleeve (from shoulder edge seam to cuff): 23"               with a hem of 2"
Shoulder (back seam to seam): 19"
Length (from bottom of back collar to hem): 31"

Mint:
Perfect; like brand new
Excellent:
Looks nearly perfect; no visible flaws; almost new condition
Very Good:
Only a few minor flaws which are not visible or have no effect on the look of the garment
Good:
Multiple minor flaws, but may not be very noticeable, the garment is still wearable, but may need minor repair
A few words on sizing:
Since many suits aren't marked, I go by measurements to determine size.  Also be aware that sometimes a suit is marked, but it doesn't match the measurements.
